Growing Up Bike is a chronicle of my adventures as a cyclist. I haven't always been a cyclist and I'm not only a cyclist. Nine years ago, I biked 6km to my friend's parents' house and left the bike there forever since I was too tired to ride those "hills" home. We all start somewhere, right!?
I got back on the saddle in January 2013 in hopes of completing a triathlon. Spin class was on Thursday mornings and after 8 weeks of near perfect attendance, I borrowed a friend's ten speed Miyata 310. I bought clipless shoes and headed out to my parents-in-law's house. I had something to prove: I would finally complete the bike ride that was too hilly in 2004. Several falls from the tight clipless pedals did not keep me from completing my goal.
I am a human, a woman, a friend, a daughter, a mother, a wife, a sister, a Christian, a triathlete, a graduate, a life learner, a Canadian, a joker, a redditor, a blogger, a cook, a reader, a motivator, a procrastinator, a ... I am passionate about many things, usually for short periods of time.
