The most challenging pickings were when we pushed the kids past their limit of ten minutes! The most productive pickings were done when one parent was home with the kids.
We managed to pick 60 pounds of berries total. I froze as many as would fit in our freezer. This space was limited because there was already June's strawberries and our prawn share in our apartment-sized deep freeze. I canned blueberries in light syrup and we ate the others fresh. I don't think we picked and preserved enough to last us until next year.
There are other farms that have fruit until the end of August and some even sell frozen berries year round. I will have to do some calculations of cost and space to figure it out. Or we can learn to live like other localites and eat with the season.
