Coffeeneuring Challenge 2013

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a randonneur who enjoyed a cup of joe time and time again. It is believed this man would petition to receive an official medal to recognize his effort. In the meantime, we are encouraged to vie for his medal by coffeeneuring: leisurely riding to a coffee shop and sipping a cup of coffee, tea, hot cider or hot chocolate at said shop. For a more detailed description, read this post.

As a natural rule-bending procrastinator, I have not started the challenge yet. It ends on November 17 this year and participants aren't allowed to count more than one coffee stop per day. Here are the shops I want to visit in hopes of finding Victoria's best hot chocolate:

Habit Coffee
The Superior
Bubby Rose's
Sunnyside Cafe
2% Jazz
Willie's Bakery
The coffee shop at the corner of Alderbury St and Viewfield Rd

What I look for in a hot chocolate is sincerity. I want it to taste pure, unprocessed, chocolatey - but not too rich. I need it to taste better than what I can make on my own. Whip cream, marshmallows and sprinkles are welcomed, though they are best not to overshadow the feature drink. At the bottom of the cup, there is a pot of gold - all is well, and I live happily ever after.
